Janet Place is a musician, graphic designer and jewelry maker in addition to full time career in public health and the mother of a 10 year old.
Janet provides graphic design services to many organizations including the Town of Carrboro, NC, Chatham Arts and more. She works closely with her husband, Gerry Williams (Musical Roots Productions) on his event production projects, developing event posters. Most notably, Janet designs the poster for the annual Carrboro Music Festival.
She started making jewelry in Sept. 08 as a means of staying sane during the election season. Since that time she has been designing and showing her creations. In both her jewelry design and graphic design, Janet is drawn towards bright natural colors and textures.
Finally, she is the lead singer and songwriter for the Americana band, Great Big Gone.
Janet enjoys working with non-profits and welcomes opportunities to assist these organizations through event poster design and even donating jewelry for fundraising.
